Meet Evelyn
Sandra, who lives in Chicago, doesn't get to see her mother,
Evelyn, as often as she would like. But Evelyn keeps in touch
through letters, writing her daughter two to four times a
week. When the letters turned dark, Sandra knew her mother was
having problems and turned to Seniors Inc. for help. A caregiver
began visiting and working with Evelyn and the results have been
remarkable.
"Almost immediately the letters
were back to being positive and reflective of the happy person my
mother has always been," said Sandra.
Through Seniors Inc. trained caregivers provide an extensive
range of in-home services including personal care (dressing,
bathing, grooming and incontinence needs), meal preparation,
medication reminders, light housekeeping and laundry services,
transportation for medical appointments, shopping and other errands
as well as post-hospital care.
Sandra recently visited her mother and met her caregiver. "I was
very impressed. She is loving, friendly, helps my mother with some
basic household chores, but mostly gives my mother her undivided
attention and engages her in conversation. It has made all the
difference. In a way, she's given me back my mother. I really
appreciate what Seniors Inc. has done for my mother and because of
this we give to support this wonderful organization."
